The Winter Satellite Workshop is the leading New Space event in Finland, Scandinavia, and the Baltic region. It brings together multiple space-focused events under one umbrella, creating a unique forum for collaboration and exchange. The workshop unites space technology experts, scientists, and students to explore emerging topics in the rapidly evolving space sector. Its scope covers New Space developments, small satellite missions and platforms, space science and instrumentation, Earth observation, and the sustainable use of space.
The Workshop is a community event, founded 2018 and technically organized by Aalto University Space Technology research group (Aalto Satellites), students and volunters and science organisations. The event is created together with officials, funding agencies, projects, institutes, companies and Aalto University student organizations. Our conference program committee consists of seasoned space professionals and our staff is mostly students and young professionals.
Our goal is to strengthen collaboration in the European space sector across generations and disciplines, bringing together students, academics, industry, innovators, policymakers, and funding agencies.
WSW 2026 invites scientists, engineers, and students worldwide to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations at the upcoming space multi-conference. The annual Winter Satellite Workshop will contain FinCOSPAR conference, Remote Sensing Days and many other events, bringing together more than thousand researchers, engineers, policy makers, entrepreneurs and students all over Europe. Participation in the conference is free of charge.

FinCOSPAR 2026, arranged by Finnish National Committee of Space Research (COSPAR) during Winter Satellite Workshop. The conference welcomes contributions from all the fields of Space Science, Astronomy, Space Exploration, Space Technology and related fields.
The Finnish Remote Sensing Club is a community of Earth observation specialists and professionals in Finland. For more than 25 years, the club has arranged a workshop called the Finnish Remote Sensing Days. The event has brought together specialists from across Scandinavia and the Baltic states to discuss the latest advancements in the field and to develop ideas for future space instruments and funding applications. Since 2020, the Remote Sensing Days have been organized together with the Satellite Workshop.
Business expo brings together more than 50 members from space ecosystem, companies, institutes, start-ups, non-profits, universities and organizations. EXPO program includes workshops, meetings and business deals.
Satellite Workshop accomodates traditionally numerous project meetings, community gatherings, workshops, panels and social events according to best Finnish tradition. Feel free to propose your own event or workshop to the program.
